Dr. Penhearow is the
director of Spurgeon Study Centre and
the president of Carey Outreach Ministries. He is
currently the pastor of Grace Trinity Community Church
in Guelph, Ontario. He is a global lecturer preaching,
teaching, and conferencing in the Middle East and the
Far East. He's also teaching the Old Testament
Biblical Theology and Homiletics in the Toronto
Baptist Seminary. He got his Doctor of Ministry
degrees from both Faith Seminary and Knox Seminary. He
and his wife Dorothy have three daughters and one son.

Course Pre-requisites:
This course is offered at both the Undergraduate and
Graduate levels. There is no pre-requisite for the
Undergraduate Course. For the Graduate Course, a
Bachelor's Degree is required.

Course Requirements:

Reading. All assigned reading is required.

Attendance. Attendance at lectures is mandatory.
Failure to attend at least 80% of the lectures will
result in an automatic F, unless there are
extenuating circumstances.

Research Paper.
The purpose of the paper is to develop a
biblical-theological insight to certain doctrines.
Undergraduate (12-15 pages), Graduate (15-20 pages).
Remember to avoid spelling and grammar mistakes.
Evidence of wide research will be looked for in the
bibliography. Be careful not to plagiarize or your
paper will be rejected. Independent research is
required.

Exam. This will be based upon readings and
lectures. 50 4-choice questions will be in the final
exam for those who want the credits.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to have:
1. A
exegetically informed and coherent understanding of the aim, content
and outlook of Ephesians.
2. A
recognition of the important role of the letter in relation to the
wider witness of Christian Scripture.
3. A
theologically mature and pastorally sensitive appreciation of the
letter¡¯s main interrelated themes in relation to God, gospel, church
and culture.
4. The
ability to engage critically and constructively with scholarly and
popular writings on Ephesian.
5.
On the basis of all of the above, a clearer sense of one¡¯s own
vocation in relation to God¡¯s gospel
and the church¡¯s mission.
6. A greater
conformity to the content of the gospel as evident in
Ephesians.
